cmuddillustration:

This is the first illustration from my new set up.
Just a quick drawing (or not so quick when you haven’t drawn for a while and seem to temporarily loose the ability to draw), for a friend who’s soon to be opening a new pub (called the ‘Woodman Inn’ near Bedale, go visit!)

My New ‘Studio’.
Since leaving university (with a first woo woo!) I have moved back to the farm and set up shop/taken over the dinning room, next to a wonderful window which has proved to be extremely entertaining, in the moments where you sit staring thinking of the next thing you have to do on my never ending to do list, with the title of ‘Trying to make living off being an Illustartor’.
Through my new window so far I have been able to follow the farms animal community, including the new romance between our first hen ‘Voldemort’ and our new cockerel, taking evening strolls together through the yard. (yes, Voldemort is a girl, but we didn’t know what sex she was when we named her, we just assumed she was a boy due to her size at an early age. She has lived up to her name however surviving a dog attack from which she received numerous bites taken out of her to rise again!)
I’ve also been able to see how our stray/farm cat ‘Hissing Sid’ has been doing, having recently had to take responsibility of one of his lovechilds, (we assume, a kitten that looks exactly like him turned up and started folowing him round.)
And lastly whilst using the window as a light box, as you do being a poor ex-student, a metre below me was a rat (the size of a litre milk bottle if not bigger, and a long stubbly tale with a kink in it!…yet its face was borderline cute,) minding its own business exploring the farm clutter, completely unaware of of me with my face pressed against the glass looking down at it transfixed in with a combination of repulsion and curiosity. Very distressing…
Any way back to work. But to some up, its a good spot.
